MS2 Report

The personas profile and context canvas found in this report are based on the observations I made at Clínica Montserrat for Micro-sprint 1.

Personas

Lorenza Granados PinillaRecently hospitalized patient

Demographics: She's 19 years old and is coursing her second semester at the Mariano Moreno Culinary School in Bogotá. She lives with her parents and has a younger brother. She had received psychiatric treatments for a year because she suffers from depression, and has recently been hospitalized for the first time.

Motivation: She has a very close relationship with her mother and would like to be able to talk to her more during her stay at the hospital. She also gets bored at the hospital, so she'd like to browse social media and YouTube.

Technical ability: Much like other teens, she is very proficient at using her smartphone.

Devices: She has an iPhone 8 and an Apple Watch.

Gladys PinillaPatient's mother (Lorenza's mother)

Demographics: This 52 year old mother of two owns an electronics store in Bogotá's Centro de Alta Tecnología. She received a technical degree in Business Administration from the SENA institute. She's married.

Motivation: She worries all day about her daughter's well being. The thought distracts her from her daily activities and contributes to her being overly stressed. She would like to have a communication channel with her to know that she is OK and to be able to support her like she usually does. She'd also like to see short reports from the psychiatrists that see Lorenza in order to track her progress.

Technical ability: She uses Facebook and WhatsApp and loves to play Candy Crush; she's not tech savvy but can generally learn how to use a new app if motivated.

Devices: Samsung Galaxy S5 in great condition.

Julio BeltránIndefinitely hospitalized patient

Demographics: A 43 year old man who suffers from a bipolar disorder which sends him into manic episodes on a daily basis. 

Motivation: He will remain hospitalized for a while, so he'd like to make friends at the hospital with whom he can share his experiences. He doesn't get visits every day, so he'd like the support from other patients to feel that he is not alone. He'd like positive feedback, specially from other patients, when he makes progress concerning his mental condition.

Technical ability: He's used to using social media on his phone.

Devices: Moto G5 (quite a modern phone though not top tier).

Doctor Mauricio EstupiñánPsychiatrist at Clínica Montserrat

Demographics: A 47 year old psychiatrist who works at Clínica Montserrat. He lives with his girlfriend and is planning to have a child soon.

Motivation: He'd like to allow his patients to use certain applications and features on their phones; for instance he thinks it would do Lorenza good if she could talk to her mother throughout the day. Naturally he wants his patients to feel better, and he'd like to publicly congratulate them for their progress through a social platform shared by the patients at the hospital.

Technical ability: He uses his phone mostly for Uber and Waze, and occasionally for social media.

Devices: Samsung Galaxy S8.
